Connection

How to connect to Virgo?


Once your center is created or if your administrator has created an account, you will receive an email from virgo.solargamescorp@gmail.com which includes a link to configure your first password. Remember to check in your spam if you are not receiving this email yet. This link will take you directly to your center, do not hesitate to put this page in your favorites to find it later!




Which browser do you recommend for the connection ?


Hereafter the browsers we suggest to launch the platform:

  • Internet Explorer version 11
  • Edge
  • Chrome
  • Opera
  • Firefox
  • Safari
The experience is more fluid on some browsers like Edge and Chrome for example. The platform is not optimized for Firefox ESR. If you use this browser, you might encounter some problems.




My download bar seems stuck in its progression, what shall I do?


The first connection is always slower because your browser gets all the visuals of the platform. If the download bar below seems to slow down or even stops, do not hesitate to refresh the web page and connect to the platform again. The platform should launch better during the second load.




I can not validate the creation of my password


In order to respect the rules of confidentiality and to increase the security of your personal data, we set up several rules for the creation of your password. It must contain at least:
8 characters a tiny a capital letter a number a specific character (remind that "_" is not considered as such)
Fill twice the same password in the two input boxes then validate.
Warning, your password is strictly personal and must not be communicated.





Appearance

Why can’t I validate the appearance of my avatar with certain styles/colors of clothes?


Some models or colors are not available, you have to buy them with Solars (virtual money used in the platform). The amount of Solars earned is permanently displayed on the menu bar at the top of your screen. You can earn Solars by completing your weekly goals and progressing in your learning journey. To buy an item, click on it and click on the validate button. All purchases will cost you 50 solars.




How do I change my profile picture?


To change your profile picture you have to open your dashboard by clicking on the puzzle piece at the bottom left of your screen. Then click on the pencil icon next to your profile picture and upload your photo. You can do the same if you want to change your username.





Viewing

How to zoom in and out?


To zoom in or zoom out, you can use the slider at the top right of your screen. You can also use the wheel of your mouse, your fingers on the trackpad or directly on the screen if it is a touchscreen. This will give you an overview of the entire center in order to select the specific room you want to join. Room names are only visible in zoom out mode.




What if I do not see the whole interface when using a smaller screen (i.e. tablet)?


For a better use of your center, use the "full screen" mode. To access the ‘full screen’ mode : click on your name at the top right of your screen. A drop-down menu will appear. Click on the "full screen" button. To return to the previous view, click on this button again.

The resolution of your computer may reduce the visibility of the platform by default. To resolve this, two simple checks can be made:

  1. Check the zoom level of your internet browser, it must be 100%
  2. Go to the "Display Settings" of your computer and, as shown in the picture below, select 100% as well.

You can also manage the viewing zoom of a content directly. If a content is not displayed correctly in the viewer, you can adjust the display using the buttons beneath it. For example, you can zoom from 150% to 100%, or press the last button to display the content in full screen.




I changed the interface language in my preferences, but it does not seem to work.


Some changes require to reload the page in order to take effect in Virgo. Please, go ahead and refresh your page or sign out and sign in again to update all information.




Why some URLs do not display into Virgo’s integrated viewer ?


If the web link that constitutes your training content does not appear in the viewer, it’s because it is not a protected link. You must open the web link on a separate tab. The platform only opens HTTPS links in its viewer.




What if my videos don’t play correctly?


It is most likely due to your internet connection which is not fast enough to read the videos offered by the trainers. If you are on wifi, try a wired connection. Images may also be misread because the browser player you are using does not support the filters and effects applied to the video. We invite you, if the problem persists, to use another browser or contact the administrator.





Training courses

How can I see all the courses I am registered to?


You just have to open your dashboard by clicking on the puzzle piece at the bottom left of your screen. Click on the small arrow to the right of "My courses". The folder "Availables paths" contains all the learning paths you can perform. The courses you are already registered for are represented by the orange color. You can complete the steps of your learning path directly from this window. To register or unsubscribe from a course, click on it and then with the blue action buttons at the top right, apply your decision.

In order to know your progress, you can at any time take a look at your menu bar at the top right of your screen. The small number in parentheses represents the number of courses you are enrolled in, and the percentage represents your overall progress status for all courses you are registered to.




Why can’t I move to the next step of my learning path ?


When you take a step in your learning path, you have additional information on the right side of your viewer. Depending on the trainer's configuration of the course, you cannot proceed to the next stage of your course without completing the current one. For a step to be validated, the check box in the viewer's tab must be checked.

Several cases are possibles :
  • View content: you must open the content
  • Read the content: you must read the content completely
  • Download the document: you must click on the Download button
  • Complete the SCORM module: you must complete your module completely
  • Complete the quiz: you must answer the quiz completely
  • Complete the quiz with a certain result: you must answer the quiz completely and reach the minimum threshold required
  • Participate in a virtual classroom: you must participate and join the virtual classroom
  • Comment on the content : you must write a comment on the content
Bear in mind that several criteria could be needed to validate a step in your learning path.




Why can’t I reach a content protected with a lock ?


There are several possibilities preventing you from accessing a protected content:

  • you are not part of the group allowed to access this content
  • you are out the timeframe this content is available
  • you have not yet reached the required step in your learning path




What if I want to publish some content as a learner in the platform?


As a learner, you can not publish content directly, but you can propose content and publish it in a folder on an object of your choice. To do this, choose your location and click on the blue action button "propose a publication" at the top right.

Your trainer or administrator will receive a notification and may choose to validate or not the publication. If the validation is positive, your content will appear in the location of your choice and you will be notified.





Goal diary

I want to see the upcoming objectives in order to prepare myself in advance


To do this, open your dashboard by clicking on the puzzle piece at the bottom left of your screen. Then click on the small arrow to the right of "My Goal Diary". You can see the objectives of the current week. Crossed objectives mean that you have already achieved them. To see past or future goals, click on the two blue arrows on left and right to see goals in previous and following weeks.




How to earn more Solars?


In order to win as many Solars as possible, complete your weekly goals. You find them in your goal diary. The number of Solars you can win is indicated next to each goal.





Personal Space

I would like to re-organize the content in my personal space. How can I do this without download everything again?


You can create folders and put your content inside using "drag and drop" function. To do this, click on the content you want to move while holding down the left mouse button. Drag your content to the exact position as desired, then drop-off content. Your document will appear at the selected location.




I have a lot of content in my personal space. How to find it easily?


On almost all interfaces displaying content or information, you have a search bar and a filter tool. To find content by name, type the name in the search bar and click on the zoom icon : the content with the same name will be displayed. To return to all your documents, tap the cross icon.

You can also use filters by clicking on the funnel icon. Several filters are displayed as drop-down menus. Once you have defined your filters, press the blue "apply filters" button and then the blue "reset search" button once your search is complete.





Diary

How can I be sure that I am registered into a virtual classroom?


When you register for a virtual classroom, you receive an email directly in your mailbox to confirm your registration. in addition, a reminder indicating the date of the virtual class you are registered in appears at the top right of your menu bar.

You will also receive a reminder email 20 minutes before the beginning of the virtual classroom.




Can I still access a virtual classroom if I'm late?


Yes, as long as you are registered before the start of a virtual classroom, you can join at any time until the finish time of the meeting.




Can I invite other users to a virtual classroom?


Yes, you can invite collaborators to enroll in a virtual classroom, as long as it is a public one. He/she can’t be registered automatically as a user. You have to send him/her a private message asking to register via "My Agenda" feature





Communication

How to communicate with someone I do not know in the center?


There are two ways to communicate :

  • By clicking on the user’s avatar you want to communicate with. A window appears with the picture of the user. Click on the blue icon on the right that looks like a “speech bubble” to open the instant communication module.
  • By accessing your chat feature : click on the chat bubble icon at the bottom left of your screen and a new window will appear.
To send a private message to other users, click on their name in your conversations and type your message in the text box, then click on the small blue arrow. You can insert an attachment or an emoticon. If the name of a user with whom you want to communicate does not appear, click on the white “plus sign” and look for its name through the drop-down menu, then confirm. If you cannot find a private conversation, enter the name of the user in the search bar at the top left and click on the zoom icon. You can delete a private conversation by pressing the cross button. When you receive a message, a notification icon appears next to the chat.




Why do I belong to news channels?


To access your chat feature, click on the chat bubble icon at the bottom left of your screen and a new window will appear. On the left side of the window are the chat channels to which you belong, as well as your private conversations underneath. The channel "public channel" is a channel that allows communication with all users of the center. If you belong to other news channels than this one, it is because your administrator has inserted you there. If there is a user icon in front of the channel name, this means that this channel was automatically created by the platform because it corresponds to a group of users. If "#" is in front of the name, it is because your administrator has created this channel express, there is no relation with the groups to which you belong.




How to send a document to a specific person?


Simply click on the chat bubble icon at the bottom left of your screen and a new window will appear. Open a private chat window with this person, and click the paper clip icon to add an attachment. Then, tap the arrow icon or the "enter" key on your keyboard to send your document.




How to know who is connected at the same time as me on the platform?


Just click on the chat bubble icon at the bottom left of your screen and a new window will appear. On the left side of the window are the names of the last users with whom you communicated. A green dot next to its name means that the user is connected.

You can take a look at the top right of your menu bar to find out the exact number of learners connected at the same time as you.





Administrator

I want some content to be accessible to some people but not to others


Just open your dashboard by clicking on the puzzle piece at the bottom left of your screen. Then, click on the on/off button to the right of "Object Editor". Your center darkens to bring out interactive objects. Click on the object with the contents you want to restrict, then press the blue action button at the top right "Manage restrictions".

Check the box "Publish to a specific group", you can now place a restriction on this object by group, grade or level of administration. You can cross these different restrictions according to your convenience. Do not forget to validate once completed.




I want to give access to my virtual center only for a demo


Just open your dashboard by clicking on the puzzle piece at the bottom left of your screen. Then click on "Groups and Users" and then Manage Users. Press the "New user" action button at the top right, enter the requested information and confirm. You can enter a date and time to disable this new account.

Depending on the duration of your demo, adjust the date by clicking on the blue calendar and confirm.




I want to download only the results of a single quiz


Just open your dashboard by clicking on the puzzle piece at the bottom left of your screen. Then click on "groups and users" and then on "statistics quiz". Through the drop-down menu, select the name of the quiz of your choice, then press the blue button at the bottom "export statistics quiz". A file in .xlsx format will be downloaded to your computer in the chosen folder according to the preferences of your web browser. The process is exactly the same to get the results of a single scorm module, except that after clicking on "Statistics Management", press "Module Statistics"




I want to create future user accounts in advance without activating them immediately


Just open your dashboard by clicking on the puzzle piece at the bottom left of your screen. Then click on "Groups and Users" and then Manage Users. Press the "New user" action button at the top right, enter the requested information and confirm. Finally, uncheck the box "Active account, an email will be sent".

The account is waiting for validation, you can validate it later. To validate this account, click on it, then on the blue action button "validate" at the top right.




How to assign default content to an object?


Just open your dashboard by clicking on the puzzle piece at the bottom left of your screen. Then, click on the on/off button to the right of "Object Editor". Your center darkens to bring out interactive objects. Click on the interactive object of your choice, then on the content that you wish to assign by default to this object.

Then press the blue action button "Choose this content by default" at the top right. Quit the editor mode by clicking on the button "Leave editor mode" at the top right of your menu bar. You can see an eye icon on the object, if you click on it, your default content will launch automatically.




How can I change the location of a user's content proposal?


You need to access the "Validation of contents" function by opening your dashboard (puzzle piece on the bottom left of the screen). Then click on the "Waiting for validation" widget and then on "Content validation". A spreadsheet is displayed with the list of users who submitted content to be published. By clicking on one of the lines, the detail of the publication proposal is displayed on the right of the window. You can see the path (ex: Solar Games / Virgo / Actuality).

It is not possible as an administrator to modify this path. Nevertheless, you can still click on the content line and on the blue button on the top right "refuse". You can then send a private message to the user and ask him or her to propose a content post on another object or folder.




Why does it looks like if the same learner did the same quiz several times when I export my excel?


If this is the case, it might be a problem in your excel configuration. To make sure, check that your column is unmerged. Select the name of your learner and then unmerge the cells. If other learner names appear, it is a just a mistake in your excel configuration. Remember to check!





Content

How can I display in VIRGO's viewer an image captured with my smartphone in portrait mode?


VIRGO's viewer operates in landscape by defaut. To display your picture in portrait, just go ahead and convert it in PDF and the viewer will present the image with a menu bar. It will not only let you rotate the image according to your preferences butit will also let you zoom and crop the image




How can I integrate a Youtube link so that the video plays automatically inside VIRGO's viewer window?


It is very simple. If you select the link in the youtube browser, the VIRGO viewer will won't be able to play it. All you have to do it a right-click on the youyube video you need to intégrate and select the option "copy the integration code". Then, paste it in the object editor and it will work without any issues.
